I know what it is like to have a passion for rowing. I know what it is like to be on a team that is your second family. Rowing is a part of my everyday life. I have rowed for 3 years now and I can't imagine my life without it. It is not just a sport to me. It's my second home.
I know what it is like to row. When I first started I was terrified. I didn't really know what it was so I watched a lot of rowing videos to see what it was like and it looked really hard. But my mom forced me to try it because she knew it was something that I would like. So I tried it and I didn't like it. I didn't like it for a week because it was really hard and confusing. My mom didn't let me quit though but I am glad she didn't because after a week I was hooked. I loved it. When I first started I was on the middle school team for 2 years. Then I got moved up to novice. Now that I am on novice I get to race and have practice more often.
Next, I know what it is like to have a burning passion rowing. I have done many sports before but I didn't have the same passion for them like I do for rowing. It is a part of my everyday life and I can't imagine my life without it. Rowing is my passion because I love doing it and it's one thing that I am actually good at. Also I love waking up everyday knowing that I am going to practice because you never know what will happen or what you are going to do. Everyday it is different.
Last, I know what it is like to be on a team. I know what it is like to have people around you that share the same passion as you. Also in rowing you have to count on your teammate. We are forced to work together. I row with 8 other people in my boat and you can let them down. You have give your 100% for them. You also become really close to your teammates. For example some of my closest teammates are Sailor, Bailey, Samantha, Joe, JJ, and Zane. My teammates and coaches are like a second family to me. I spend 3 hours everyday with them and I couldn't imagine my life without them.
All In all, I know what it is like to have a burning passion for rowing and I know what it is like to be on a team the shares your passion. Rowing is a amazing sport and I love it.
